Thanksgiving

April

We did Thanksgiving on NZ’s Friday so it would be on the same day as in the USA.

Our neighbors from South Africa joined us. It was truly wonderful! None have them had ever tried rootbeer. It was adorable watching their faces as they tried it for the first time in their lives. 7’s friend was SO excited to try American Pie. She loved our family’s Blackberry Cream Pie!

Honestly… I was just grateful to have (almost) enough plates for all of us. It’s a bit of a miracle really. We just got here 2.5 months ago. And we have a comfy home, a table, chairs, an extra table and chairs, cups, silverware, a crock pot for the ham, a multitude of pots and pans, pie pans, a mixer, and the huge variety of food present at even the most basic of Thanksgivings. And new friends to share it with!

We are spoiled… We are FAR more comfortable than almost any immigrants. We sold a LOT of assets before we came. But to watch a home and a life (for a family as large as ours) to be built in such a short time is nothing less than a miracle to me. We are truly grateful!

(Even B, in spite of what their face indicates. 😃)
