After some much needed rest, I’m finally getting around to posting about our Christmas Adventures. Our first stop was Hobbiton for a beautiful tour of the set from The Hobbit trilogy.

We took a hike around the village with a tour guide who added various titbits of information about the filming of the movie. One of my favorite morsels was regarding all the footpaths and clothing lines. In the months before and during filming (and presumably during the life of the tourist attraction), crew members would put up and take down the washing every day to maintain the footpaths.

And of course, we had to see Bagend.

Afterwards we stopped at the Green Dragon for a cold drink and a quick snack.

What a cool experience. And, of course, we couldn’t do it anywhere else!
