With my sister in town, we finally went somewhere that’s been on our list for some time, Wētā Workshop. Wētā Workshop is a special effects company based out of Wellington. They’re responsible for the effects in the Lord of The Rings movies.

The Wellington location is open for tours, but because of all the intellectual property, they can’t allow touching or photographing. As a result, they opened Wētā Workshop Unleashed in Auckland. It’s an hour-long tour where you’re encouraged to touch and explore freely. We had a really great time.
